چکیده

In the mol-ecule of the title compound, C(7)H(15)N(3)O, the central C atom is surrounded in a nearly ideal trigonal-planar geometry by three N atoms. The C-N bond lengths in the CN(3) unit are 1.3353 (13), 1.3463 (12) and 1.3541 (13) Å, indicating an inter-mediate character between a single and a double bond for each C-N bond. The bonds between the N atoms and the terminal C-methyl groups all have values close to that of a typical single bond [1.4526 (13)-1.4614 (14) Å]. In the crystal, the guanidine mol-ecules are connected by weak C-H⋯O and C-H⋯N hydrogen bonds, generating layers parallel to the ab plane.

2-[2-(Benzylsulfanyl)phenyl]-1,1,3,3-tetramethylguanidine

The mol-ecular structure of the title compound, C(18)H(23)N(3)S, shows it to be a derivative of an amino-thio-phenol possessing a tetra-methyl-guanidine group with a localized C=N double bond of 1.304 (2) Å and a protected thiol functional group as an S-benzyl thio-ether. The two aromatic ring planes make a dihedral angle of 67.69 (6)°.

A novel and convenient chemoselective deprotection method for both silyl and acetyl groups on acidic hydroxyl groups such as phenol and carboxylic acid by using a nitrogen organic base, 1,1,3,3-tetramethylguanidine.

[reaction: see text] 1,1,3,3-Tetramethylguanidine (TMG)(1), a nitrogen organic base, is a convenient and useful reagent for chemoselective deprotection of both silyl and acetyl groups on acidic hydroxyl groups such as phenol and carboxylic acid without affecting aliphatic silyl and acetyl groups. The chemoselectivity is dependent on the acidity of the hydroxyl group.

Bis(2,2′-bi-1H-imidazole)copper(II) bis(1,1,3,3-tetracyano-2-ethoxypropenide)

In the title compound, [Cu(C(6)H(6)N(4))(2)](C(9)H(5)N(4)O)(2), the Cu(2+) ion (site symmetry ) is coordinated by two N,N'-bidentate 2,2'-biimidazole (H(2)biim) ligands, generating a square-planar CuN(4) geometry. The dihedral angle between the aromatic rings in the ligand is 0.70 (9)°. In the polynitrile 1,1,3,3-tetra-cyano-2-eth-oxy-propenide (tcnoet) anion, the C-N, C-C and C-O bond lengths ...

Ultrasound-assisted synthesis of 2,4-thiazolidinedione and rhodanine derivatives catalyzed by task-specific ionic liquid: [TMG][Lac]

BACKGROUND Synthesized arylidene derivatives of rhodanine and 2,4-thiazolidiendione have potent pharmacological activities, and these are also key substrates for the preparation of clinically used antidiabetics. FINDINGS Some 1,1,3,3-tetramethylguanidine-based task-specific ionic liquids (TSILs) 1a-1e were prepared and employed to the catalyzed solvent-free Knoevenagel condensation of 2,4-thi...

Carbenoid-mediated nucleophilic “hydrolysis” of 2-(dichloromethylidene)-1,1,3,3-tetramethylindane with DMSO participation, affording access to one-sidedly overcrowded ketone and bromoalkene descendants§

2-(Dichloromethylidene)-1,1,3,3-tetramethylindane was "hydrolyzed" by solid KOH in DMSO as the solvent at ≥100 °C through an initial chlorine particle transfer to give a Cl,K-carbenoid. This short-lived intermediate disclosed its occurrence through a reversible proton transfer which competed with an oxygen transfer from DMSO that created dimethyl sulfide. The presumably resultant transitory ket...
